Privacy Policy

Your trust is our anchor. We explain what Thanla stores, why it is needed, and how you stay in control.

Introduction

Thanla is a private relationship-care application. This policy explains how information is collected, used, shared, retained, and deleted when you use the web, iOS, or Android application.

Thanla helps you connect; it does not sell your personal information. We do not read your calls, SMS, WhatsApp messages, email, or device notifications.

Data We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide and secure the service:

  • Account information: email address, name, language, verification status, and a securely hashed password.
  • People you add: names, relationship, birthdays, city or country, interests, preferences, photos, and details you choose to remember.
  • Confirmed exchanges: dates, channel, duration, and optional notes that you explicitly save. Thanla does not infer or capture these exchanges passively.
  • Private content: memories, journal entries, unsent letters, grounding practices, voice notes, transcriptions, reminders, and planned activities you choose to create.
  • Address-book import: only people you select are added to Thanla. We do not upload your entire address book or import contacts automatically.
  • Preferences and device data: reminder settings, notification identifiers, app language, subscription status, and basic technical logs needed for reliability and security.
  • Purchases: product, entitlement, renewal, and transaction status supplied by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or Stripe. Thanla does not receive your full payment-card number.

How We Use Your Data

We use this information to:

  • Provide, personalize, secure, and maintain Thanla.
  • Send the reminders and notifications you enable.
  • Generate conversation starters and activity suggestions from the context you choose to provide, including optional weather context.
  • Provide account support, data export, subscription access, and purchase restoration.
  • Prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and comply with legal obligations.

Service Providers

Limited data may be processed by providers that help operate Thanla. They may process data only for the service they provide:

  • AI processing (OpenAI and DeepSeek): context you submit for AI suggestions. Thanla does not send or read your private conversations.
  • Notifications (OneSignal and mobile platform services): device and subscription identifiers used to deliver reminders.
  • Payments (Apple, Google, RevenueCat, and Stripe): purchase and entitlement information.
  • Email (Resend): your email address and the transactional message needed for verification, password reset, or account support.
  • Weather (OpenWeatherMap): a city or country used to tailor an activity suggestion; precise device location is not required.
  • Hosting and database providers: account and app data required to run the service.

Legal Bases and Your Choices

We process account and app data to perform our contract with you, protect the service based on our legitimate interests, comply with law, and use consent where required for contacts, microphone, photos, speech recognition, and notifications. You can refuse or withdraw optional permissions in the app or device settings.

Security and International Processing

We use access controls, encrypted network connections, password hashing, and limited provider access. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Some providers may process data outside the EEA; when required, transfers rely on recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights concerning your personal data:

  • Access and receive a copy of your data.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Delete your account and personal data.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Receive portable data and lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority.

Export or delete your data directly in Settings. You can also use our public deletion page or contact Account deletion · privacy@thanla.com.

Retention and Deletion

We keep app data while your account is active and only as long as needed to provide the service. When you delete the account, associated relationship data is removed from active systems. Limited records may be retained where required for fraud prevention, accounting, legal claims, or in time-limited secure backups.

Deleting a Thanla account does not automatically cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it in your Store account to stop future billing.

Children

Thanla is not directed to children under 13, or under 16 in the EEA. If you believe a child created an account, contact us so we can remove it.

Web Cookies

The web version uses essential cookies and local storage for sessions and preferences. See our Cookie Policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. We will publish the new version here and update the date above.
