Thanla is built on a simple belief: Technology should protect your connections, not exploit them. Because Thanla works differently than most social apps, we want to be completely transparent about how your data—and the data of the people you care about—is handled. Here is our promise to you, in plain English.

Your Circle is Private (They Won't Know)

Thanla is a one-sided tool. It lives on your device, for your use.

We never notify your contacts that you've added them to Thanla.
We never invite them to join the app.
We never share your relationship notes or reminders with them.

This is your private space to organize your intentions. They will never know Thanla exists unless you tell them.

We Don't Sell Data. Ever.

You are not the product.

No Ads: Thanla does not display advertisements.
No Data Brokers: We do not sell, rent, or trade your contact list or interaction history to third parties.
No Profiling: We do not build marketing profiles based on who you care about.

Our business model is simple: You pay us (optionally) to keep the lights on. That's it.

Your Data Stays Yours

Local First: Wherever possible, your data is stored locally on your device, not on our servers.
Encryption: Any data that is synced is encrypted end-to-end so only you can read it.
No Scanning: We do not scan your SMS, WhatsApp, or call logs. You choose what to log manually.

You Have Full Control

Your relationships belong to you. You should own the data too.

Export: You can download all your notes and contact data at any time.
Delete: You can delete individual contacts or wipe your entire account instantly.
No Ghost Data: When you delete data, it is permanently removed from our systems.

Security is Standard

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information from unauthorized access. However, please remember that your device passcode is the first line of defense. We recommend locking your device to keep your Thanla data private from those around you.

Our Ethical Commitment

We know that storing information about people who haven't consented to be in an app can feel sensitive.

We want to be clear: Thanla is not a surveillance tool. It is a memory aid. It is designed to help you be more present, not more intrusive. We encourage you to use Thanla to nurture kindness, not to track or monitor others without their knowledge.
